Bite Beauty debuts a selection of 34 high intensity shades in their new Amuse Bouche Lipstick Collection. Some shade favorites from the Luminous Crème Collection make a reappearance in the new formula, amid a bevy of bold new shades. The Amuse Bouche formula is handcrafted from a combination of 12 “edible” oils, triple milled pigments and are formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates.

Definition of Amuse Bouche: a small savory complimentary appetizer offered at some restaurants

The Amuse Bouche lipsticks offer full-coverage pigment in one swipe. It maintains a soft, creamy and non-drying texture through hours of wear. Fresh pressed fruit offers the formula a subtle citrus scent that is barely detectable after application. The wide shade range is certainly enticing and there are some great offerings for nude lovers like myself. I do love this new formula and find it to have better wear than the previous Luminous formula.

Meringue is a wearable peachy nude that brightens the complexion.

RMS Beauty unveils some new beauty for spring! As a huge fan of the line (I swear by the RMS “Un” Cover-Up) I suffered heart palpitations the moment the new releases reached my inbox – any other crazy beauty junkies out there? Hello? A new product made its debut, called the Contour Bronze, as well as, a new Lip2Cheek shade called Spell, a lighter shade of the “Un” Cover-up and a new Lip Shine called Content.

• Contour Bronze – Adds definition and dimension to skin with warm, radiant hues of bronze for a true sun-drenched glow. Doubles as a realistic contour.
• “Un” Cover-Up 000 – The lightest shade of “un” cover-up for fair skin.
• Lip2Cheek in Spell – a modern nude dusty rose.
• Lip Shine in Content – a richly-pigmented classic berry red.

“People love to use bronzer as a contour! We get questions about this all the time. Color-wise, bronzers don’t work well as a contour so I combined the two. Our Contour Bronze makes for a more realistic contour shade by using brown undertones rather than the dated red-orange hues. Doubles also as a bronzer for darker skin tones. Either way you can’t lose!”

The Contour Bronze naturally defines and sculps the face with a subtle radiance. When I first laid my eyes on its deep rich tone, I thought in no way that it would work for my lighter skin tone. But in true RMS fashion, the Contour Bronze blended seamlessly into the skin adding natural looking definition to the contours of my face. The look can be subtle to more dramatic, and I can see this product working well for a wide range of skin tones. As for a bronzer – I’m not getting enough warmth from this product, so I would reach for it solely to contour. The Contour Bronzer looks beautiful on the eyes (see image above). Rose Marie Swift does say that it “doubles as a bronzer for darker skin tones,” so I’ll just stick with the Buriti Bronzer for bronzing.

RMS Lip2Cheek in Spell is a nude pink shade that adds the most natural and subtle flush to the cheeks – a my flush but better kind of look. It’s quite pale, so it would be best suited for fair-light complexions. Spell is very close to my natural lip shade, although a bit more nude.

Kjaer Weis is a beloved brand of the green beauty community and well beyond. Their most recent Lipstick release has been gaining a ton of press and praise. In true Kjaer Weis form, the new lipstick formula is housed in the most aesthetic eco-luxe packaging, that is of course refillable. In complete contrast to the sheer Kjaer Weis Lip Tints, the new Lipsticks are uber pigmented, matte, and long-wearing.

• Adore: A deep, warm, Old-Hollywood-glam red.
• Believe: A taupe-y plum that’s polished, understated and sophisticated.
• Empower: A bright, richly saturated pink. The perfect pop of color.

Kjaer Weis Lipstick in Honor

The Kjaer Weis Lipsticks are CCPB Cetified Organic, all natural and gluten-free. They contain a combination of jojoba seed oil, sweet almond oil, and rosa seed oils to moisturize and to fight against signs of aging. The lipstick is highly pigmented, and while it has a velvet matte finish, it still remains creamy on the lips for the duration of wear – it reminds me a bit of the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche formula. The formula is quite firm in the tube, and takes a bit of effort to apply – although it does seem to soften from the warmth of your lips. The wear-time is truly excellent, and for a nude!

Kjaer Weis Lipstick in Honor is a pale peachy-pink nude shade, although in the tube looks deeper and almost mauve. In my opinion Honor would be best suited for lighter skin tones.

With pleasure I bid adieu to 2016! This past year was a doozy, but yet, a year filled with incredible beauty (products). I’ve had the incredible opportunity to discover so many incredible products in 2016, some very notable products that have really blown me away and just when I thought I’ve seen it all. Here are a few of the true stand outs of 2016 that have easily gained their place amidst my all-time faves.

Makeup:

• W3LL People Bio Correct Concealer: This concealer is a winner! It has excellent coverage, a weightless feel, and an undetectable finish. I like to use it both under the eyes and on areas of the face to reduce redness and brighten my complexion. 
• Glossier Boy Brow: The Boy Brow is like my brows x2. It naturally enhances my brows and keeps them in place. I’m not a big fan of overly groomed eyebrows, I like them a little messy and this product helps me achieve that – just healthy-looking, lush brows.
• Jane Iredale Bronzer in Sunbeam*: This bronzing quad has been in heavy rotation since its release this past summer. It has been my most reached for blush and eyeshadow. The selection of luminous copper and pink shades brighten my face and enhance my green eyes, while providing a natural glow. (review)
• Red Apple Lipstick: When RAL finally came into my life, I wondered what had kept us apart for so long. Oh My Guava* Lipstick is absolutely one of my all-time favorite nudes, it works through every season. Their glosses are also an absolute must-try. The formula is super soft, hydrating, and pigmented – Tiny Dancer* is my jam, it’s a face brightening light peachy-pink. (review)
• Au Naturale Lipstick in Marrakesh*: Because you can never have too many nudes. Marrakesh is an easy-to-wear, not-too-nude peachy-pink nude. (review)
• Kosas Cosmetics: If you’re seeking out a statement lip this is the brand to go to. Their color selection is on point and the brand somehow makes bold shades easier to wear. If I had to choose, I would say Undone* and Fringe* are my faves. (review)
• Modern Minerals Lip Glosses: These thoughtfully created glosses are a daily staple. The sheer, hydrating formula provides fuss-free application. I do love both the Invigorating and Emotive gloss formulas, although am quite partial to the Invigorating Lip Gloss in Touch of Blush, which is a dreamy peachy-pink nude with lip plumping ingredients. Skin Care:

• Bottega Organica: A true beauty stand-out of 2016, Bottega Organica creates some of freshest, most potently rich skin care products. The Overnight Renewal Cream* and the Restorative Mask Formula* offers my skin epic hydration. Sadly for my wallet,  I don’t ever want to be without either of these products. (review)
• Maya Chia Supercritical Chia Oil*: This wonderfully hydrating oil has become a staple in my routine and I always find myself coming back to it. While its deeply hydrating (even for my dry skin), it’s incredibly lightweight. (review)
• Josh Rosebrook Nutrient Day Cream: I personally find it difficult to find a well formulated clean water-based cream that provides the hydration that my skin desires. The Nutrient Day Cream is just amazing, the texture is gorgeous, plus it contain SPF 30 and has the most delightful vanilla scent – I just want to eat it!
• Lina Hanson Global Face Trio*: This powdered mask, exfoliator, cleanser is one hard-working face treatment. It detoxifies, smoothes and hydrates the skin all at once.
• Board and Batten Farm to Skin Calming Lift: I am already on my third bottle and that says a lot. This super hydrating facial mist has been a stable in my skin care routine since I first discovered it.
• Free Love Beauty Lovechild Illuminating Oil*: I’m all about that glow and Free Love Beauty’s beautifully crafted rose-gold shimmering oil adds a warm natural (tasteful) radiance from head-to-toe. I’ve been adding it to my tinted moisturizer, body oil or alone for a beautiful glow. (worn here)
• Forager Botanicals Body Oil*: One of the more hydrating body oils I’ve come across. I just love everything about it. Coconut Isle is so beautifully fragranced. Their perfume oils are another gem! (review)

Hair

• Captain Blankenship Golden Waves Mermaid Sea Salt Hair Spray*: I love some mussy beach-waves and this is my favorite! Plus it contains golden shimmer! And the scent! (review)
• Leonor Greyl: I truly love all things Leonor Greyl, but their Masque à l’Orchidée’ is a true stand-out. Ive never used a hair mask that gives me the results that this one does – it hydrates my hair while giving it healthy volume and bounce. (review)

Nūdus Australia recently added five new shades to their Lip Euphoria range of lip colors. I’m sure you’ve heard me rave before about this Australian-born line of lipsticks, which contain all-natural, certified organic ingredients in an ultra luxe formula. These boldly pigmented lipsticks provide long, comfortable wear and nourish the lips with a blend of 27 active ingredients.

Dreamtime: a creamy mid-tone pink with red undertones (if 27 kisses had a sister, this would be it)
Amalia: a sheer pink wash of color (lighter in weight than other Nūdus formulations)
Zo Zo: a fun bright purple pop of color
Viva: a medium purple/pink (lighter and more mauve then Just Like Jade)

Amalia is a beautiful mid-tone warm pink. The finish is more glossy then other Nūdus shades and while it is a touch more sheer, it sure does not lack in pigment. One swipe offers a more subtle look, while this formula can be layered for more intensity. As per usual, Amalia performs beautifully with easy application and hydrating long-wear. In the above image, I applied a light layer of Amalia.

Henné Organics, a brand gaining cult-status for their widely popular lip products, unveils some new beauty, and what you can expect is one seriously pampered pout. It all started with one incredible balm, comprised of all natural ingredients, that is effective as it is luxurious. Now the brand has expanded to include nine fabulous products all targeted to caring for your lips. Just in are some new lip exfoliators that to my surprise are actually not excessive, but completely necessary. Oh.. and they’ve added a tint to their balms!

Henné Organics expanded their selection of Lip Exfoliators with two new additions (flavors?). Nordic Berries* and Lavender Mint* are now available, in addition to the original Rose Diamonds. This is my first time trying the Lip Exfoliator and I am impressed! These sugar-based scrubs contain the perfect oil to sugar ratio, and seriously hydrate long after you’ve wiped (licked) it away. I didn’t expect myself to get so much use out of these, but I’ve been treating myself to a scrub every evening since receiving them. Nordic Berries (my personal favorite) contains real raspberry and blueberry seeds, while organic berry flavors makes the scrub utterly tasty. It also leaves behind a subtle berry tint, which is such a lovely extra quality. Lavender Mint is well, minty fresh and floral and beautifully so.

The new Luxury Lip Tints* from Henné are the perfect addition to your summer beauty routine. They are indeed luxurious, containing gorgeous natural ingredients and packaged in a minimalistic tube that carries a bit of weight and a satisfying click when securely closed. Offering a sheer wash of balmy color that builds slightly for a more vibrant effect, I find these tints wear longer than your average tinted balm. LIP GLAZE

The Lip Glazes are highly pigmented glosses that boasts a lot of shine and long-lasting hydration. The formula is smooth – no stickiness whatsoever, with considerable long-wear. These are so hydrating that I can skip out on balm entirely. The beautiful and high quality packaging is certainly a surprise at this price point and its performance is exceptional.
